tombstone blues

IT'S TOO HOT TO WEAR MORE CLOTHES THAN THIS. I got the dress from Columbia and I made the flower crown. I was pretty inspired by combining black and colors and I love just being able to throw on this plain black comfy cool dress and then wear crazy shoes and a flower crown with it:
the fabulous tavi, of course
tumblr (or tumblah, as they say in britain, i suppose)

it's one of those long, hot, humid days of summer where all you can do is lay around and listen to bob dylan and think poetic thoughts about change and life and death and stuff. I guess I've come to realize that life is a certain amount of time that you get and you have to do something with it because really it could end at any time. wow that sounded depressing. I've also realized that change is inevitable and that it can sometimes be a good thing. For example, after listening to The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars 10 billion times, I guess listening to Highway 61 Revisited for a while couldn't hurt.

a n y w a y,
CHECK OUT MY DANSKOS! they're iridescent and shiny and wooden and comfortable and wonderful. they put me well over 6 feet tall and I love it so much.

also check out the pins that I purchased at rewind the other day!

Summer is so nice because I'll have days like today where I don't really do anything and I can just pursue whatever my heart desires and just have fun and be lazy and listen to records and take pictures and go to the lake and stuff. I never want summer to end.

enjoy some sparkly cacti: (tumblr)

THE WEATHER. SRSLY. 2 hot 4ever
I thrifted this babydoll dress the other day from rewind and I really really really really really really like it because it's COMFORTABLE and BREEZY and the only thing I want to wear, ever. plus it was like $15. plus it's polka-dotted.

i have too much hair for this world????!!...

ALSO:
I scored these fricken sweet mephisto sandals (normally like in the $200-250 range) for $28!!!! plus they're bejeweled and my size~
(excuse my ugly feet)

yeah

Some inspiration:

sanctuary

my room has always been my best friend. it's where I do basically everything, and it's where I can be alone when I can't be anywhere else. I cleaned it a lot yesterday and got rid of a bunch of stuff to kind of de-clutter my life and it left my room looking kind of blank, but I still like it a lot in here and I feel refreshed that I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff that's sort been clogging up my personal growth. so here are a few (low quality, omg sorry) pictures of the ~ROOM TOUR~:

my li'l jewelry area on my bookshelf with a bunch of tangled necklaces and broken earrings.

the BOWIE WALL

one time I bought like 11 national geographic magazines from the 60s for like $2 and they had all these cool maps and they're actually my favorite thing in the whole world.

red stripes

I had to go on a college tour this afternoon which SUCKED because most of the tour was outside and there's a heat advisory because it's almost 100 degrees today. fortunately I was rewarded with a trip to jamba juice and everyday people where i bought a FEW NEW ITEMS OF CLOTHING. please excuse these pictures.

I just need summery clothes that I can wear on days like today when I literally sweat into oblivion (even in my own house, because we have no air conditioning, for dumb reasons).

CLOSET CLEANING: DRESS KEEP OR DELETE

Since this summer is a summer about new beginnings and fresh starts, I decided to give my room a li'l makeover, starting with my awful closet. The curse of having a walk-in closet is that you can literally just stuff everything in there and not think about it until like 2 months later when you're actually looking for something and it's buried under 8 tons of junk.
So while I'm cleaning out my closet, I've decided to get rid of a bunch of stuff and give it to GoodWill. I happen to have accumulated several dresses, both thrifted and new, over the past 6 years and it's time for me to decide: should I KEEP or DELETE? Here are some bad photos of some of the dresses that I internally fought over:
this weird connected lacey skirt + top that I got last year at Karma. (keep)

A long, bright red thrifted dress from the 80s that I actually love a lot but actually look horrible in (delete)

This cool floral dress from  ragstock that's made out of some weird swimsuit material but is actually my favorite thing ever and I don't care what you say (keep)
Another thrifted dress from who knows when, that I love, even though it is not flattering whatsoever. I WILL FIND SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. (keep)
An odd stripey pink thing from h&m that I like but not enough to handwash it every time (delete)

A way cool velveteen dress from urban outfitters that's perfect in every way and oh my god it's the best thing ever but I can really only wear it in december with thick leggings (keep)
